This dream is a little strange and was what I woke up to this morning. Luckily, the dream woke me up so I remember a lot of it very vividly. This would not have been the case if the alarm woke me up from my sleep. So here it is:
I was on the little bit of land. Before me was a little wooded area and to my back, left, and right was open area. I think there was a road behind me as well, but I am not entirely certain. Where I was kind of reminds me of a road by my high school.
Either way, I was standing there with another person who wasn’t really a person – they were a zombie. They didn’t look like a zombie, but looked very normal in appearance. This person was very non-descript and I can only really say that I was talking to a person in my dream. He was male, but I don’t really know what he looked like even though I was talking with him. I was looking into the woods ahead of me and at a trailer that was through the thicket.
Me and this zombie-man were talking and eventually I challenged this zombie-man to a contest. He could take four of his buddies and I would have one buddy with me. They would try and turn us into zombies (ala. 28 Days Later – not to be confused with 28 days
) and we would try and kill them. We quickly agreed that this would be our agreement.
I walked through the thicket in front of me and past the trailer into a huge grass field. There was a deep wood off to the left and up a gradual incline there was a fairly large house. The grass was a green as any grass I have ever seen. There were some people on the grass near the wood congregated together.
I remember standing with a companion by my side, just some random person, and we were standing with our backs to the house. In front of us was a line of about 8 or so zombies – again very normal looking. At that moment I knew that all those people who were now off to our right were dead and that the zombies were going to not really honor the terms of our competition but try and kill us all.
Then the competition started and we were given a head start to get ready. Me and my companion ran up the hill toward the house and entered it. The room we entered was empty, like the house had just been built. The carpet was tan and the walls were off-white. There was a small trim on the walls of wood that went up about two feet. There was a light on in a adjacent room so we made our way that way.
Eventually we came through a room, a hallway, and down some steps until we came to this low room with an island. On the left side of the room was a window to an inner court yard. At the head of the room was the island with cabinets behind it. This area looked like a bar or mini kitchen. On the right wall just near the head of the room was a stair case leading upward. There was a another entrance on the back wall behind us that led into a pink room.
That is where me and my companion went, into the pink room. In this pink room there was a column in the center of the room and the column was hollowed out in such a way that you could easily climb the column to a room above that was also pink. This was clearly a girls room. I handed my companion (who was now definitely my wife, by the way) a shot gun that was fully loaded. I also gave her some more ammo.
I said, “Head up to that room and stay there. We are going to make our stand there and it looks like this the only way to get into the room. We should be able to pick them off as they make there way up the column to get to us. I love Jess (you).”
She climbed the column while I headed back into the room with the mini-kitchen. Once I entered the room an entire family came into the room too. There was a father, who had a salt and pepper beard and was a little heavy set with long black hair – like an Italian, a mother who I can’t remember a thing about, and a little boy and girl.
I asked the father if he had gun. He reaching into a cabinet in the island and brought out a backpack that he said had a shotgun in it. I told him to hurry up the column and into the girls room where my wife, Jess, was. As they were heading that way the the first zombie entered the room.
What was interesting about this zombie was that it looked exactly like a guy who rode the bus every day just like me when I road the bus. Again, he didn’t look like a zombie, but I just knew that he was one. I raised my pistol and shot him in the stomach but it didn’t stop him. He bent over and then recovered and then jumped amidst the family on their way down the hallway.
I raised my gun again but didn’t want to hit any of the people in the family so I hesitated to shoot. I wanted to hit him in the head so that he wouldn’t be able to do anything anymore. My gun was raised and my sight was set and …
I woke up.
